Video: the largest iceberg breakup premieres Friday

While filming in the Arctic for his documentary, “Chasing Ice”, filmmaker James Balog captured the breakup of the Ilulissat glacier in Greenland. With 7.4 cubic kilometres of ice splitting off the Ilulissat, this is the largest iceberg breakup ever filmed. “Chasing Ice” premieres in the UK Friday, December 14, 2012.

Greenland and Antarctica have lost more than 4 trillion tonnes of ice in the last twenty years, which accounts for rising sea levels around the world.
