Share your insect adventures for our #GardentoGarden competition!Posted on 21.07.2020
We’d love to see any photos, videos or sketches gathered from your time exploring insects in your local green spaces (led by our free Ento-Sleuthing guide) so we’re running a competition to inspire you to get out there and start looking, and to ensure your work is shared and celebrated widely!
Judged by a panel of artists, scientists and wildlife experts we’ll be giving away a special clip-on microscope to 5 favourite images.
We’re after any images of bees, or other insects, in their natural habitat – and we hope the guide will inspire you with ways to look closer like never before!
How to enter
The competition is open to all young people aged 8 – 18, living in any part of the world. The closing date for entries is midnight on the 18th September 2020. Images are judged on age and merit.
There are THREE ways to enter:
1) Ask a family member or carer to help you share any photos, videos or sketches of your insect adventures by email to firstname.lastname@example.org
2) Ask a family member or carer to help you share any photos, videos or sketches of your insect adventures on Twitter using the #GardentoGarden hashtag, mentioning @Invisible_Dust.
2) Ask a family member or carer to help you share any photos, videos or sketches of your insect adventures on our Invisible Dust Facebook page using the #GardentoGarden hashtag, mentioning @Invisible_Dust.
When sharing online or by email to email@example.com: please include your first name and your age. If you can also include the part of the world you took the image, even better.
We will make sure to feature and retweet all suitable entries on our social media (Facebook and Twitter), with a selection featured on a special gallery on this website.
We’ll announce the winners by the 30th September 2020, so buzz off – and get exploring!
Important rules for entering
Please do NOT include any images of human faces – especially if the people in question are under 18. We are just keen to see the insects and nature!
