Lumiere Durham 2017

Lumiere - Artichoke

Lumiere Durham – 16th – 19th November 2017

This weekend Artichoke brought the UK’s largest light festival back to Durham for the fifth time, transforming the city’s iconic buildings and hidden spaces with illuminating artworks.

From the incredible ‘Methods’ by Pablo Valbuena – a major light show flashing over the exterior walls of the Cathedral and pulsing through the incense filled interior as the bells rang out; to a haunting riverside walk of glowing trees and mist with a bespoke soundscape from Kari Kola; to ‘Harmonic Portal’ from Chris Plant three glowing and meditative circles on an ancient wall; the 29 works throughout the city create an ethereal beauty that make you look at things in a different light.

Thank you Artichoke for a fantastic few days, looking forward to Lumiere London – coming soon!
