13th October – 16th October 2011, Regents Park, London

A live hermit crab has adopted a copy of a Brancusi sculpture as it home in an aquarium landscape created by artist Pierre Huyghe at this year’s Frieze Art Fair. The hermit crab which is known for taking a discarded shell of another animal and living in it, moves around the aquarium with the object on its back.

Huyghe creates situations where creatures or people interact with their circumstances to raise questions about nature and in this case the role of the Art Fair itself. This extraordinary installation is on display until 16th October and is part of  Frieze Projects’ programme.

The fair includes 170 contemporary art galleries, a curated programme of talks, artists’ commissions and film projects.
