Producer, Sounding The Sea Symposium – Hull
Fiona has a background in both the sciences and the arts. With a BSc in Biology she worked in the biological sciences sector for 18 years. She held a variety of roles ranging from applied research through to international sales and marketing.
After transitioning to the creative sector, over the last 11 years Fiona has worked on a freelance basis as a producer and programmer for a wide range of visual and performing arts organisations. Including the Appledore Visual Arts Festival, Beaford Arts, Burn The Curtain, Ruth Mitchell and Stacked Wonky Dance Company. During 2016 Fiona was also Producer for a 3 day event celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Resurgence Magazine. In addition Fiona has been heavily involved with the North Devon UNESCO Biosphere Foundation, through which as a founding Director, she set up and ran various initiatives including arts, science and technology projects such as Confluence.
Fiona is particularly interested in work which intersects the boundaries between the arts and sciences and in particular work that explores current environmental issues.
