Bio Blitz!

25/06/2012

This coming Sunday 1st of July, wildlife experts including Bats in Space‘s Prof. Kate Jones will spend 24 hours recording as many species as they can find in the grounds of Silwood Park, and everyone’s invited to come along for the last few hours to help with the hunt!

From 11am to 3pm audiences will able to meet the species and take part in activities for all ages, from pond dipping to bird watching, and from bug hunts to nature crafts.

The event is part of London 2012 project Meet the Species, which aims to actively involve the public in finding and identifying 2,012 species of UK wildlife before the end of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The great news for us is that Bats in Space has just become ‘Meet the Species’ London 12 Cultural Olympiad accredited.
