Adam Chodzko is one of the six artists shortlisted for this year’s prestigious Jarman Award. The £10,000 prize celebrates the spirit of experimentation, imagination and innovation in artist filmmakers, inspired by the work of legendary filmmaker Derek Jarman.

“The Jarman Award shortlist yet again showcases some of the UK’s most interesting artists working with the moving image”, says Adrian Wootton, Chief Executive of Film London and the British Film Commission.

Work by each of the artists will be shown as part of a UK tour, prior to the announcement of the winner on 30 November at the Whitechapel Gallery. Also shortlisted are Andrea Luka Zimmerman, Seamus Harahan, Gail Pickering, Alia Syed and Bedwyr Williams.

Invisible Dust is working with Adam Chodkzo who is creating an intriguing and challenging experimental new film ‘Deep Above’. The film will premiere on November 20th-22nd at the Watershed Cinema Bristol, in the run-up to the November Paris IPCC World Climate Conference. ‘Deep Above’ explores the insight of behavioural psychology into our apathetic response to climate change, contemplating our failure to transform our behaviour.

‘Deep Above’ is produced in partnership with the Watershed and Shambala Festival and funded by the Wellcome Trust.
